Whether traveling or at home, I enjoy visiting wineries. I love trying the different wines, enjoying the relaxing atmosphere and learning about each one’s history. Lucky for me, there are some fabulous wineries just minutes from my home in Noblesville, Indiana.

With warmer weather finally coming to the Midwest, it’s the perfect time to visit one of these favorites. Grab a delicious glass of wine, indulge in some snacks, listen to music, enjoy a beautiful patio – all of this and more awaits:

Urban Vines in Westfield is my go-to location when I’m looking for a fun and relaxing evening out. It’s perfect for date night, girls night out or even just enjoying an afternoon of playing cards while listening to music. Urban Vines offers a delicious array of white and red wines, their own beers and even ciders. In the summer, the wine slushies are a dangerous delight. With weekly Bingo or Trivia nights, live music most weekends and tasty “create your own” charcuterie platters you can’t go wrong with visiting this favorite of mine. I share more details on Urban Vine in my 5 Fun Fall Adventures in Hamilton County Post.

Sugar Creek Winery is the newest addition to the wineries in Hamilton County. Sugar Creek has an upscale, outdoor vibe and an amazing outdoor firepit. The vineyard is located in nearby Montgomery County and produces many of the grapes that create their delicious varieties of wine. Sweet Water doesn’t serve food, but that means you get the fun of bringing in your personal favorites. Learn more about Sugar Creek in this post on Sugar Creek Winery.

Blackhawk Winery is a bit of a drive as it’s located on the outskirts of Sheridan, but combine it with a stop at Wilson’s Farm Market on 31 and you have a lovely afternoon adventure. We took our dog with us the last time we visited and although he loved being included, he wasn’t a fan of the turkeys and chickens! He’s a bit of a “chicken” himself. My friend Tanya did a recent review of her experience at Blackhawk Winery, so check it out and see why it’s a favorite for both of us!

Located on Main Street in downtown Carmel, Peace Water Winery has a unique business model where 50% of all their net profits are donated to various charities. I love this! They just opened a second location in downtown Indianapolis.  The Carmel tasting room is comfortable and fun, with plenty of seating and a beautiful outdoor patio. Wines are all from Napa Valley Grapes. When we visited there were 3 whites available and about 5 or 6 reds. Tastings are 5 samples for $10, or you can order a flight of 3 wines for $15. No food on-site but there are many terrific restaurants nearby that deliver, or you can bring food in.

Our final stop is Harmony Winery in Fishers. Harmony is located right off of Allisonville Road in a small strip center.  Although not a large building, it is a comfortable place to enjoy a glass of wine or tasting. Tastings are $5 for 5 samples and $1 each for additional samples, so if you can’t decide on 5, feel free to try more! They also offer a port flight for $19 and I can attest that their ports are delicious.  Harmony has some very interesting fruit wines that would be terrific on a hot summer day – think watermelon, peach or cranberry. Yum!
