Tuesday I challenged you to be intentional in your relationships, and I’m going to share today how I fulfilled the challenge.
It was the fair week for us, and with my daughter enjoying her first year in 4-H, the fair was a big deal to her. So I tried to really focus on it and make it a fun outing for all of us!
Luckily for us, our fair is only a few minutes from our house – and it’s a very simple one – truly a 4-H fair – no rides, just a few games – really about the animals and the projects.
First stop of course was the exhibits – my daughter really enjoyed showing off her hard work and it was fun checking out what the other kids did. Some of those advanced projects are pretty amazing! There are some talented kids out there.
Next we had to visit the animals. The kids got to see chickens, turkeys, ducks, cows, sheep, bunnies, horses, llamas, etc. A very fun experience for a couple of kids who live in the suburbs. The soft bunnies were the favorites – we even saw some that were only a day old.
And of course, it wouldn’t be a fair without fair food. This is one of those 10% times I don’t worry about what we eat. Since I know we are eating good quality meat and veggies at home, one meal at the fair isn’t going to kill us.
It was fun to hear the kids talking on the walk back to the car about what they will do for next years projects. My daughter even offered to help her little brother put together something so he can participate – very cute to hear!
That is just one example of how I was intentional in my relationships this week. How about you? What did you do? I’d love to hear about it in the comments – if you haven’t done anything yet, no worries – you still have the weekend, so make those plans right now!
Today is the last day for the amazing savings when you enroll at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. The classes are so interesting – many big names in the wellness field, and the information is invaluable! There is a great video on the page, so don’t forget to watch it.
