Need a Blog Makeover?

I am seeing blog makeovers right and left these days – I’m not sure why, maybe it’s the fresh Spring air, but everyone (me included) seems to want something new and pretty!  If this sounds like you too, you MUST check this deal out by Blogelina. For Mother’s Day, they are offering 1000 (yes, you read that right – 1000) blog makeovers for a $10 donation to cure.org.   Pretty darn cool, right?  For all the details (and to get involved), check out the post HERE – $10 is such a steal, that I highly encourage you to consider doubling that if you can afford it – I mean this is a seriously generous offer. So if you are wanting a fresh, pretty new look, check it out!  Good luck...

My Favorite Books from March 2015

I had plans to read more non-fiction this month, but somehow it just didn’t happen.  Here is a link to my amazon list of everything I read, and below are my favorites: This book is so far from anything I typically read that at first I didn’t think I’d really like it, but ends up I really enjoyed it.  It was one of those books that had me really thinking about it for days after I had finished it.  What if something happened that wiped out most of civilization – it is scary to think about how quickly life as we know it would fail.  My rating 4.5 out of 5. I’m not sure how I missed these books as a child, but both my daughter and I have really been loving them.  She is two books ahead of me so I’m rushing to try to catch up!  These are simple, sweet books about Betsy, a typical high school girl growing up in the Midwest back in the early 1900s.  What is amazing is how modern these books feel – the issues Betsy and her friends encounter are very similar to what girls today (and in my day) dealt with.  Want something to read with your tween daughter?  Pick up this series.  My rating 4 out of 5. What a clever and engrossing story.  The house is the backdrop and the story moves backwards – there are twists and turns and you learn more and more as the stories unfold.  My biggest tip is don’t read ahead – you’ll lose so much of the fun!  My rating 4 out...
